Game copywriting – a walkthrough

Answers to some common questions, from the kinds of gaming words we write to how we work with you.

01

What kinds of game writing are you most experienced in?

Our experience includes back-of-box copy, store descriptions, press releases, in-game dialogue and microcopy, game trailer scripts, pitch decks, sales materials, and wider campaign content.

02

How do you support indie and mobile game developers?

We can provide focused support with the parts of development or marketing that need a professional writer. That might include a Steam or app store description, press release, character dialogue or microcopy. We can also help teams writing in English as an additional language make their copy feel natural, clear and consistent.

03

How can you help larger publishers working on bigger releases?

We’re comfortable fitting into larger creative and production teams, and writing for established brands. Our experience includes developing concepts and content for major publishers through a specialist games advertising agency, as well as working directly with a leading UK publisher on dozens of children’s games based on major licensed properties.

04

Will this fit our timeline and budget?

We agree a price upfront based on the work involved, with no requirement for an ongoing commitment. We’ll be clear about what we can achieve within your budget and timeline, and we’ll do our best to accommodate urgent work when availability allows.

05

What do you really know about video games?

We're not 1,000+ hours on Destiny 2 types, but our work is informed by a longstanding love of games. Neil Wheatley, our lead copywriter and the person most likely to work on your project, previously built an online gaming database and has been a volunteer moderator for a popular gaming forum. He still plays all kinds of games, both single player and with friends and his kids.
